A man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin is being sued for posing as the manager of Lil Wayne and Drake to dupe promoters out of thousands of dollars.

According to a complaint filed by Eagles Entertainment Inc. in Milwaukee County Court, the defendant, Joey Turner Jr. (aka Jo Flowroshus), impersonated Cortez Bryant to book Canadian rapper Drake.

Turner allegedly contacted Eagles Entertainment and misrepresented himself, by claiming that he was Cortez Bryant

He told Eagle Entertainment that Drake’s asking fee was $90,000 and collected a $9,000 deposit, for a show that was supposed to take place September 1st in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

“In making his statements said defendant knew that said statements and misrepresentations of defendant were in fact false and intentionally fraudulent,” lawyers for Eagles Entertainment said in the lawsuit.

In February, Drake addressed a string of organized, fake bookings that were concentrated in the South. In all instances, a man posed as Cortez Bryant and took deposits for phony shows.

“It has been brought to my attention that false promoters and booking agents are illegally using my name and likeness to promote concerts and club appearances for their own financial gain,” Drake told AllHipHop.com. “It is frustrating for me to hear that many of my fans, who like myself are innocent victims in these scams, have been misled due to the greed of these promoters,” Drake stated. “I apologize to any fan that has been a victim of these circumstances or feels let down by false advertising.”

Eagles Entertainment is seeking a total of $27,000 in damages, plus lawyer and court costs.

Drake’s bookings are handled by International Creative Management (ICM).

A pair of altercations involving rapper Foxy Brown were the subject of a grand jury hearing today (August 11th) in New York.

According to the New York Post, Foxy Brown testified in front of a grand jury in Brooklyn Supreme Court this morning.

Sources stated that the grand jury was questioning Brown about two incidents last month involving her Brooklyn neighbor and her manager.

Foxy Brown, born Inga Marchand, is expected to deny allegations that she violated a restraining order filed by Arlene Raymond, her neighbor in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.

A court ordered Brown to stay away from Raymond, after she was convicted of striking the woman with her Blackberry during a 2007 argument in the same neighborhood.

In their most recent dust-up, Foxy Brown is accused of shouting profanities at Raymond and mooning her during the argument on July 21st.

Just a week later, Foxy Brown was allegedly involved in a massive brawl in a luxury high-rise in Manhattan on July 29th.

Reports stated that Foxy Brown lashed out at her manager, Bernadette Brennan, in a brawl that took more than 10 people to quell.

Foxy Brown left the scene before police arrived and no charges were ever filed in connection with the fracas.

“An argument started because my manager had booked us for two interviews but only gave us 20 minutes’ notice for hair and make-up,” Foxy Brown told The New York Post. “My manager was yelling and screaming at my friend. It was a heated exchange between three friends. I never hit anyone.”

Foxy Brown, 30, pleaded not guilty to one felony count of criminal contempt of court for violating an order of protection.”

Weezy’s manager says he hasn’t paid her since 2005.

Although Lil Wayne is serving his time in jail, he can’t seem to escape the barrage of lawsuits aimed at him. This week, his former manager Melissa Philipian sued the rapper for $500,000 on top of the 15 percent of his estimated $200 million earnings five years ago.

In 2005, Philipian was reportedly fired by Lil Wayne for booking what he felt to be a sub-par hotel room. In April 2006, she sued Wayne for failing to pay the amount even after having signed a three-year agreement, and booking 21 shows. Weezy claimed that he never signed a contract with Philipian and that she forged his signature. The matter was later settled out of court for $375,000.

However, a YouTube video has recently emerged , suggesting that Wayne lied under oath and in fact did owe Philipian the stated amount. The video includes an old interview with Wayne in which he acknowledges Philipian as his manager and cites the many things she had accomplished for him. The former manager has filed a new lawsuit, accusing Lil Wayne, Cash Money, and Universal Music Group of fraud, tortious interference, civil conspiracy, and breach of contract.

Cash Money has not yet reacted to these allegations.

Source: MTVNEWS

G-Unit member Lloyd Banks has a new contract. After months of speculation about where his upcoming LP, The Hunger For More 2, would be released, 50 Cent has secured a new distribution deal for the Punch Line King. Banks will announce his new home Friday at 1 p.m. ET on “RapFix Live.”

Of course, Banks is still signed to G-Unit, but since the release of his 2006 LP, Rotten Apple, fulfilled his contractual obligation to Interscope, the Southside, Queens, native has been operating as an independent artist.

Banks has kept up his profile and his musical releases, dropping the G-Unit album T.O.S. (Terminate On Sight), in 2008, and a myriad of mixtapes, including 2009’s V.5. Banks had a radio and club hit with the Juelz Santana-assisted “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” this spring and he recently completed production on a new single featuring singer Lloyd, titled “Any Girl.” Meanwhile, Banks has been steadily working on the sequel to his 2004 multiplatinum fan favorite, The Hunger For More.

“It takes people back,” he said about putting out sequel LPs. “Especially with Twitter and stuff like that, you talk directly to your fans and they’ll tell you what they want to hear. They want that old thing back. Not as far as the music, but the drive. Fans want to see you excited about hip-hop.”

Banks said that during a talk with 50 Cent, the Unit’s general told him that HFM2 has to be a timeless project.

“He said, ‘You know what you gotta do. You got to make a part two to that record and make another classic,’ ” Banks recalled.

The G-Unit’s new distribution deal will just be for Banks and Tony Yayo. 50 still has one more record he owes under the terms of his Shady/Aftermath contract at Interscope.
